About

The Building Science Group started in 2000 under the the leadership of Dr. Jelena Srebric to become the intersection of many collaborative research projects. It has since grown to include a diverse group of faculty, graduate, and undergraduate students across a number of universities and organizations. Members of the research group are from a variety of backgrounds including: mechanical engineering, architectural engineering, computer science, and public health.

03/09/2015: Dr. Mohammad Heidarinejad was invited to present on the Multi-Scale Modeling of Sustainable Smart Cities at the 2015 National Science Foundation’s Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) Week.
Matthew Dahlhausen received an ASHRAE 2015 Graduate Student Grant-In-Aid for his ongoing work on campus energy model calibration for retrofit measure prioritization.

Dr. Heidarinejad Selected For CPS Week 2015 Workshop

03/09/2015: Dr. Mohammad Heidarinejad was invited to present on the Multi-Scale Modeling of Sustainable Smart Cities at the 2015 National Science Foundation’s Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) Week. Dr. Heidarinejad was awarded a full travel grant to attend the event and present his work on"Implication of Multi-Scale Modeling of Energy and Airflows in the Built Environment on the Design of Sustainable Smart Cities."

CITY @ UMD Members Hold Spring Strategy Session

01/21/2015: Under the direction of Dr. Srebric, CITY@UMD memebers sat down and planed out the coming Spring Semester. Discussed topics include: publications, Virtual PULSE, collaborative work with UMD Facilities Management, in addition to personal goals for the upcoming semester. In attendence were: Nicholas Mattise, Matthew Dahlhausen, Dr. Yang-Seon Kim, Dr. Mohammad Heidarinejad, Dr. Jelena Srebric, Saber Koshdel-Nikkho; along with undergraduates: Krishang Sharma, Mike, and Itohan.
